The Expo exists to serve the NSW market directly.

Rather than a generic national trade show, it is built around the specific buyers, projects and policy pressures facing NSW councils, infrastructure owners, waste operators and resource recovery businesses, and brings them together with the technology providers, consultants and innovators who can help them deliver.

Who's exhibiting

Equipment makers, technology suppliers and service providers, with heavy machinery operating at full scale in the Live Equipment Arena. Sourced for contract renewals, kerbside collection and FOGO rollouts.

Who's buying

A qualified, senior audience: operators, MRFs, engineers and consultants. Every year, councils, government agencies, hospitals, universities and infrastructure owners spend billions of dollars on waste and recycling services

The 1-to-1 meetings programme

The Waste & Resource Recovery Expo adds pre-booked 1-to-1 meetings, inside a full trade floor. connexU has run the meetings programme since 2022.

Conference and content

Free, practical education at the Waste & Resource Recovery Expo, built around real NSW challenges: government and policy, circular economy, technology and safety, and practical implementation.

02

The targets

WaSM 2041: "have an 80% average recovery rate from all waste streams by 2030."

Unverified: verbatim WaSM 2041 - awaiting PB clearance (WRR-34)
03

The funding

NSW Government: $356 million over five years for WaSM 2041, from July 2022.

Unverified: compressed from two verbatim EPA sentences - awaiting PB clearance (WRR-34)
04

The contracts

A state-funded joint procurement facilitation service, initially targeting major Greater Sydney waste contracts.

Unverified: the Greater Sydney half is WaSM 2041 p24, published 2021 as a forward intention - awaiting PB clearance (WRR-50)
